This one is from the archives and I came across it and thought it was worth sharing.Tony Rogers the ‘Caster master’ at it again. ‘You’re welcome’
Oh my, I want my pre-baby body back too. ‘it’s hard, it’s hard and that’s what people don’t realise’
We had such a great time filming this music video across Melbourne with support from many of our iconic locations
This is a beautiful commercial filmed in a cute suburban house in Cheltenham. People often ask to list their modern or renovated houses, but secretly we love the classic Australian homes.
We had so much fun making this commercial. real people, real staff and real farmers from Mildura and surrounds. Most of the farmers whose farms we filmed on make an appearance in this commercial, and sometimes their families too. Country hospitality is alive an well in Mildura.
Oh we love this project.
Sure it looks like India but it just might be Port Melbourne. We filmed all of this within 30km of Melbourne and we hope you don’t notice.
This commercial was filmed across Victoria, including an astonishingly beautiful redwood forest in the Otways. All the effects are in camera and the only post production effects were to remove some of the props designed to pop or explode the balloons. The camera is a special digital camera that captures motion at a rate of up to 9000 frames a second, most of the footage you would normally view is at 25 frames a second. It is this high frames rate that allows us to view water balloons like we have never seen them before. You get asked by directors at times to organise permission to film in some unusual places. In the case of this commercial we had to find and receive permission to film in a famous Melbourne Building Foyer and on top of this we had to negotiate to be able to have 50 people in black tie outfits to have a water fight. Sounds crazy? Yes. Did we make it happen? Yes, and the results are truly spectacular.
It was the real thing, an actual 20 tonne tank which took an enormous amount of logistics to have it brought to a location near Warburton.
From the “you look hot, like a sunrise’ to ‘brake foot bling’ we have been with Rhonda sourcing the locations for this series of commercials over many years. When people ask what we’ve worked we let them know we’ve been part of Rhonda’s journey which has captivated Australia.
Tony Rogers has been called the ‘caster master’, but we just think of him as a great and loyal guy. The characters in this commercial are perfect and hunting for location with features which looked like goal posts was fun.
Sure we mainly work on TV commercials and sometimes we help make a difference.
It is difficult to believe that this commercial is filmed entirely in Melbourne, you could equally believe it was filmed entirely in France. It is so very beautiful, touching and gives the whole team goose bumps with every viewing. This production was a real challenge and a labour of love towards one of the most beautiful scripts to come across our table. With one of the most awarded director and producer teams of Garth Davis and Karen Sproul, along with the internationally awarded director of photography Grieg Frasier it was always going to be a stunning piece or work. We hope you like it as much as we do.
We have a vested interest in this project and we are delighted by the results. It has had a small cinema release and expect to see it at a video store or television near you in the future. Rats and Cats is by the same team that brought you the Wilfred Series. It was made on a shoe string budget compiling the talents of many generous people. One of our favourite locations is Darren McWarren’s home in Gladdington. It was a tough brief and in the end the one house is actually a combination of 3 homes located in Aspendale, Armadale and Templestowe. It is the main location we are asked about after people have seen the film.
Killer, crazy, wacky and the same time beautiful ad with stunts. Who better to direct than Garth Davis.
It was tough gaining permission to film in abandoned locations which brought a new set of challenges to overcome.
Nearly everyone in the world has seen this TVC, it evokes some stern opposition from people and others simply love it, no matter what your stance is, it has to be one of the most memorable TVC’s to have been aired in Australia. When some asks ‘What TVC’s have you worked on?’ this is the first one we mention. We are very proud of this TVC, a lot of work went into it and the results are truly spectacular. The main credit lies with the talented combination of Karen and Garth, the Producer and director team behind this and many of our favourite productions. All of this TVC was filmed at various locations around the inner city suburb of Fitzroy. An interesting side point to this TVC is the cat that appears to chase the tongue when it exits the house was not planned; the neighbour’s cat that had a fondness for chasing a laser pointer. We had to return to the cat to its owners’ house to ask them to sign a clearance for the cat.
This commercial sees some of the best technicians in the country coming together. It is a dark, edgy and comical ad, which saw us filming from Brunswick to East Melbourne. If you look at the background where the man is hit by a car you will notice and iconic Melbourne furniture store called Franco Cozzo. Franco Cozzo’s late night TVC’s have become legendary over the past 10 years and the brunt of many jokes.
This was a very secretive TVC and not even the crew were informed of what the product was before or during the filming. An incredibly complicated production with a short list of 80 locations – many of them not making the final cut of the TVC. This was by the same team that made the Tooheys tongue TVC and was a greater challenge for us all. The majority of the catapults were real and required allformat to organise for a whole city block in every direction to be locked down with rain effects. The base of the catapult was 13.5 meters long and had to be built on site. The part of the ad when the catapult is on top of the building with the brutalist architecture box in the back ground is real. Little Bourke St was closed down of the night to allow cranes to lift the pieces of the catapult to the top of the building. This project brought new challenges and more locations for the one TVC that I have ever heard of. The team at allformat did an amazing job on this production and we consider it a real feather in our cap. There are a lot of post production effects in this ad. One particular scene sees the BHP Billiton building in the background with a lot of people staring from the windows. They were unable to assist us in the production of the TVC and we had to add people watching from their windows in post production. This is the biggest television commercial we have worked on and highlights what allformat can achieve with the right resources.
There is a little self-glorification for putting this on the site, sure it’s a great TVC, sure it was filmed in Byron Bay, sure we managed the location for 5 of these TVC’s filmed all over Australia, but the real reason this is on the site is because our own Paul DiCintio is the star of the TVC. Look for the guy eating the Kangaroo steak at the end of the ad and remember that the camera adds pounds.
Another Tony Rogers TVC, the most loyal man in the industry.

We have worked with some of Australia’s and the world’s top production companies including Guilty, Collider, Airbag, Finch, Spinnaker and Revolver to name a few.

Our list of directors is equally impressive with
the likes of Scott Hicks, Tony Rogers, Garth Davis, Glendyn Irvin, Trent O’Donnell, Rey Carlson,
Justin Kurzel and Mark Toia. Some of the great photographers we’ve had the pleasure of working with are Simon Puschmann, Michael Hartz Stuart Crossett
and Lou D’Angelo.

Here’s a small selection of some of our favourite television commercials we’ve worked on over the years. There’s been some seriously creative problem solving involved in bringing these clips life, they’re all memorable to allformat and each one has a special story to tell.
